The Pepsi vs Coke Debate

Hey!

Most people have heard of the Pespi vs. Coke debate, well it's time to put my own two cents in. My entire life my family and I have been Pepsi people, if you bring a coke to a family thing you will be put in the corner (kidding, kinda), but recently I've been drinking more Coke (Mainly because I can get it at the dollar store #I'mbroke)and I've decided that it's a tie. Although if I absolutely had to choose it'd probably be pepsi, 'cause coke is just a watered down version of Pepsi.

I'd also like to talk about the Mountain Dew vs Sprite, I definately choose Mountain Dew.

And I think there's something going on between Dr. Pepper and Rootbeer, so I choose Dr. Pepper because root beer is just Gross. Unless it's in a Rootbeer float of course.

Updated: The Unnamed Kitten is now named

Hey!

I probably should of done this weeks ago, but I got kinda distracted. So, the new kittens name is Cleopatra. Cleo or Patra for short. She's a little Demon and is under the impression that she belongs to me, she does not and she will be very disappointed when I leave in three weeks. Here's a picture of her pretending that she's not a demon:

Hey!

A week or two ago I wrote a post about Cady Groves and how amazing she is. She's pretty amazing. Anyway her birthday is tomorrow, July 30. She'll be turning twenty two. Make sure to tweet her happy birthday wishes and tell her how much of an old lady she is.

Highschool: DAPA

How many of you are starting highschool or going into your next year of highschool? A lot of you? Just what I thought. How many of you are terrified? I definately am. On August 22nd I will be starting a senior year of highschool, and i am completely terrified. I'm so not ready to grow up and everytime somebody brings up college I walk away and pretend I can't here them. So, in an attempt to distract myself from my impending senior year, I'm going to focus on the past three years (I think this is going to be counterproductive, oh well).

I go to a small performing arts school, it's not even four years old yet, but I'm so proud of this school, we have been through so much. The school is a little different from our grading scale to dancing and singing in the hallway (like Glee except less lame).

My Secret Addiction

Hey!

So I'm secretly addicted to all those ABC Family shows, you know, Secret Life of the American Teenager, Pretty Little Liars, Chloe King, Switched at Birth, Melissa and Joey, State of Georgia. Yeah, I'm addicted to every single one, that's 3 nights out of my week that I spend watching TV. And somehow, even though I've literally been doing nothing but blog and help my dad and step-mom move, I've missed the last 3 weeks of all of them, that's 18 episodes, and I'm probably not going to be able to catch up for another 3 weeks, that's, uh, 36 episodes, do you know how long it's going to take me to catch up once school starts, like two months. Wish me luck.

Back To School: Preperation Tips

I hope you enjoy this! I will have more back to school posts about different thing when it gets closer to back to school dates. Please leave what date you go back to school in the comments-- thanks!
  1. Get back into your school habits. During the summer, I sleep in and stay up late. A couple days before you go back, get back into your habits and routines. This should help for when you wake up on your first day.
  2. What to buy for clothes school shopping!?!? I would definitely buy essentials: jeans, some skirt and tees. Get things that you can wear over and over again and can wear with many things. Also try to get one dressy thing like a skirt and a frilly/lace top.
  3. Reuse school supplies. When summer comes to an end, before I go school shopping, I look at what I have at home or from last year (pens, paper, scissors). Save those things and use them for the next year. It all adds up and this will end up saving a lot of money!
  4. Fresh start! When school starts, I love getting something fresh or new, like a new haircut, or buying some fun new products. I like getting my haircut done before school starts that way I can come back with polished and nice hair!
  5. Decorate your locker. If you have a locker, I suggest decorating it-- nothing big, but adding something fun! I like putting up colorful locker shelves, pictures, and adding some personal touches!
  6. Carry a tote and water. When I go around school, I don't want to be carry my backpack full of books everywhere. I would get a tote bag. They have lots of them at different stores and range with different designs and prices. I got mine from Roxy. I'll carry my homework to and from school with my books in my backpack, but when I'm around campus, I'll use my tote. I also carry a water bottle with me-- It's Eco friendly and comes in handy.
  7. UNIFORMS: I don't currently wear a uniform, but I have worn them in the past years. I didn't preferably like them, especially because they were really strict. If you have a strict uniform, I would say don't break the rules dramatically, but If they say socks above the ankles, and you like your socks shorter (like me), go with it. If you want to wear makeup, than natural: powder, lip gloss, and maybe a little contouring (save mascara and blush for weekends). You can also do your hair really nice everyday for something to spice up your look. If you have a less strict uniform, than paint your nails, do your hair nice, and get away with a little makeup (if these rules apply with your school rules). If you aren't aloud to wear nail polish, than do pastels, but you can always curl or straighten your hair and wear a little makeup. I'll be doing a back to school makeup and clothing looks for public and private schools when it comes closer to back to school.
Hope you enjoyed it :) I know summer is not yet over, but I wanted to get this up for those who go back to school early or people who like to get there back to school supplies early. Look out for more in my back to school series! Thanks!

The Horrors of Aspartame.

Hey!

So, somebody told me about this today, so I went online to see for my self, and from what I can tell its true. If you don't know what aspartame is, it's an artifial sweetener (Equal,NutraSweet, etc.), and is also used in many "diet" and low calorie drinks. What most people don't know is the health problems that aspertame causes, I'll post links on where you can find more info on that, but that's no what I want to talk about today. I want to talk about what happens when aspartame gets heated. When aspartame gets heated above 86 degrees, now remember normal body temp is 98.6, it turns into formaldehyde, which is embalming fluid. Embalming fluid is used to keep dead bodies from decomposing. So, when you're drinking that delicious diet soda, it's going into your stomach and turning into embalming fluid. I will no longer be drinking things with Aspartame in them, always check the ingredients in what you put in your body. It's up to you to keep yourself healthy.

So, I failed

Hey!

This is going to sound like every addicts excuse, but right now just isn't the time for me to be taking a break from technology, I need to be focusing on getting my blog off the ground. I'll re-do this when my blog is more established. I hope that you'll still try.

Can We Have a New Conversation?

Hey!

I feel like my friends and I have the same conversations over and over again.

We talk about the same drama everyday, no matter how old it is. We rehash every detail until we're all so confused we can't see straight. I'm just a little sick of talking about drama especially since it's old drama, I'd like to have a real conversation. Something that isn't about sex, or drama, or any other mundane high school thing.

Do you and your friends talk about the same thing over and over again? Does it drive you insane?

Technology Detox

Hey!

A recent study, that I read about here, showed that going offline is just as hard as giving up drinking or smoking. I've decided to test this theory, except I'm going to double the amount of time. I'm going to do a technology detox. For 48 hours starting at midnight my time, I will not be going anywhere near technology. I will not touch my computer, my phone will be off except for emergencies. I've already pre-written and scheduled the posts for the next two days to be posted, so you'll still get your We Throw Rocks At Cars fix. Although, I do encourage you to do your own technology detox, it'll be fun to see what things we come up with to do without technology. At the end I'll post results.

If You Don't Like How it's Being Done, Get Up and do it Yourself

Hey!

A lot of people complain about various presidents "ruining" the United States and not doing things right. The only thing I have to say to those people is, if you don't like it, do something about it. I'm sick and tired of people complaining about stuff and being to lazy to do something about it

Don't like the president? Why don't you run?

Don't like the health care system? Why don't you come up with a new one?

Don't like the war?...Ok, I agree with that one, we got our "revenge", let's get out of there before we no longer have an army.

The point is, we have the power to change things in our country. And I think that parents that have teens that are 15-17 should talk to their kids about the issues that are going to be voted on, 'cause back in 08-O9, because we're the ones who are going to be affected by this stuff the most. We have to deal with their decisions our entire life.

Megan and Liz Making it Big

Megan and Liz are twin sisters that have been posting videos of themselves singing on YouTube for several years. Recently there videos have become more professional and they even posted a few music videos. Have they been signed? I have no idea. They haven't said anything, but there definetely on their way to making it big.

"Maybe Possibly" has been one of my favorite songs since it first came out almost two years ago. I don't really understand parts of the video (why is she packing?), but I like it anyway. Good luck Megan and Liz! I hope you make it.

Top Gear: It's Only Funny the First Time

Hey!

A couple of days ago I was watching Top Gear with my dad. It was the episode where there racing trucks through Alaska, to find America's toughest truck. And it was hilarious, until three ours later when I had to watch it again, and then again after dinner. I don't understand how people can watch the exact same episode of a show multiple times a day. I get annoyed if the same episode is played within a week. Oh, the downfalls of only having on TV in the house.

I've Changed, but You Haven't

Sixth grade was a difficult year for me. I started out the year with no friends, my friends from elementary school either went to different middle schools or we didn't have anything in common anymore (three months can really change a person). A couple months in I met Cheyenne and Marie. I'd actually known Marie before that, but it had probably been four years since we'd seen each other last (Our fathers were friends). Marie and I didn't get along most of the time, Cheyenne was kind of the buffer between us.

The Secret Language of Girls by Frances O'Roark Dowell

Hey!
So, I didn't really like this book. There was no real plot and the characters were unrealistic, at least they were to me. Maybe I'm lucky, but I've never been around people who PURPOSELY try to destroy someones life. Overall this book was awful. The writing was okay, but I probably wont be reading anything else by Frances O'Roark Dowell

People of Walmart

Hello everyone! My name is Emily and I have a beauty blog called bloom with beauty. Click here to go visit :).  I am not a judgmental person in any way, and when I do judge I keep it to myself. But this story, it could not go without being told. I always hear about people of Walmart.com and how crazy some people are that go there. I have seen people in their pajamas, in clothes that don't fit, people talking to themselves, but never this. I was walking around with my friend and she called me over to where she was. At the time I was on a mission to find bath salts for my mom and I refused to go see what she was looking at because I  was so focused on finding what my mom needed. She kept on calling me and so I went over to see what she was looking at. My jaw dropped, there was a guy standing in the beauty isle.

Today I discovered this AMAZING artist, Cara Salimando, through Strawburry17, who makes very creative music videos on youtube.

In The Forest of the Night by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes

This book isn't exactly new, but it's my favorite book of all time, I've probably read it well over a hundred times, it never gets old. I first read this book in 8th grade, I was thirteen and nerdy. Amelia Atwater-Rhodes was thirteen when she wrote this book. And at the time I thought the writing was the best thing since Shakespeare, of course, I've matured since then so I realise that its not the best writing in the world in fact, it's probably only a couple of levels above Stephenie Meyer, but it's still my favorite book.

Murder, She Wrote

I know this show isn't exactly current news, but I've been watching it a lot lately and figured, why not blog about it.

Since I have nothing to do this Summer except blog and watch T.V., I decided I'd watch Murder, She Wrote, mostly because my Step-mom owns three seasons of it. So far I've made it through the first two seasons(give or take a few episodes that wouldn't play), and I am in love with this show. Seriously.

The Mediator

Hello followers of We Throw Rocks at Cars!! I am a guest poster:) My name is Hayley, I also have a blog of my own (it's about beauty) click here to check it out! I decided to do my guest post on my current FAVORITE series of books: the Mediator series by Meg Cabot. This is a series of six books full of mystery, intrigue, excitement, and suspense! Book one introduces you to Suze Simon who can see, talk to, and punch ghosts:) This series takes you on a journey full of supernatural and human experiences as well as romance. I won't disclose too much about the series as I don't want to ruin the excitement of the books! These books will long be one of my favorite series as a close second behind Harry Potter. I hope you will all check them out, you won't regret it! Happy reading;)

Guest Writers

I've been talking to a couple people who are willing to do guest posts. So hopefully they'll bring in some diversity.

Paper Back Swap

So, while skimming through a couple blogs I came across a website calles paperbackswap, where you can swap books with other people, it looks pretty cool. I haven't tried it out yet, but I will once the summer's over. All of my books are in California, so I can't really do it now.

LeAnn Rimes

On Saturday I went to see LeAnn Rimes with my dad (I hang out with my dad a lot, I have no friends in Mississippi). She was pretty amazing. I know most people don't like country, but I grew up on country, my earliest memories are of listening to country in the car with my dad. LeAnn Rimes is one of the more inspiring country singers out there, she was so young when she started, I think it's somewhere between 11 and 14.

Christina Grimmie's New Music Video for the Song "Advice"

The music video for Christina Grimmie's Song "Advice" was released today. The song has a fun pop sound with a "love is all you need" message. I think the video definately could have been more powerful, but I think it worked for her style.

It's a newer sound than what her fans are used to. A combination of studio mics and philters, with just a touch of autotune, give her voice a slightly more mainstream feel.

Demi Lovato

Recently Demi Lovato released the video for her new song "Skyscraper". This song really shows how much what has happened in her life has affected her. She has grown up so much since she first showed up on the Hollywood radar. She's no longer the girl who starred in Camp Rock.

Are You excited About the New "Two and a Half Men"?

The new ad for CBS's show "Two and a Half Men" has been revealed. What do you think of the new ad? How do you feel about Charlie Sheen being taken off the Show? What do you think about Charlie Sheen? What about Ashton Kutcher? Do you think the new episodes are going to destroy the show?

Rebecca Black's New Single "My Moment"

Surprisingly, I kind of like it. I've said since the beggining that if there hadn't been so much autotune on "Friday" it wouldn't have gotten her famous as quickly, but it would have gotten her famous because of her talent, instead of getting famous because it was infamous.

Teens and Internet "Dating"

Lately and increasing number of my friends have been playing games like WOW or Perfect world, or any other online game, and meeting guys. After a couple of days of talking to those guys they say that they are "dating".

Honestly, if i met a guy online who wanted to date I would wonder what's wrong with him that he can't get a girl in real life.

Split California in Two?!?

Source: http://news.yahoo.com/51st-state-small-step-forward-long-shot-south-233234624.html

In my opinion splitting California in two would be a horrible idea. One of the problems that the split will supposedly "solve" is the budget problem, how in the world is that possible? Splitting California into 2 would require a major overhaul of the original governing parties and the creation of new ones for the new state, which would only cost MORE money. When will the government realise that spending money we don't have wont fix the budget problem?

You, Are Not A Dog Whisperer

I know several people who watch Dog Whisperer. A show starring Cesar Millan, he helps people deal with common dog behavior problems. People who watch this show seem to think that watching it means that they are qualified to help other people with their dog problems. It doesn't. When I'm around people like that I kinda just wanna punch them in the face.
